RAP-VAP ultralight towel

Brand new

In 2010 Lightwave is introducing to Europe a new concept in ultralight towels for trekking, travelling and sports of all kinds – the RAP-VAP. These will be available May 2010

Ultralight

The RAP-VAP towel is sewn from a Polartec® polyester that is normally used as a base-layer fabric. At 140 g/m², the two towels in the RAP-VAP range weigh a mere 40 g (small) and 95 g (medium) respectively.

Ultra-fast drying

The towel works by pulling moisture away from the body and then distributing it across the surface of the fabric. Since the moisture is not actually absorbed by the fibres, it evaporates more quickly, hence the fast drying time.

No bad odours

As well as being substantially lighter than conventional microfibre towels currently on the market, the fabric also has a permanent silver-based anti-microbial treatment to inhibit smells.

Two sizes

The RAP-VAP is available in two sizes – small (for the lightweight purists) and medium (for those who like a little more comfort).

Reviews

The “Wick-er Warmup” towel launched by Discovery Trekking in North America 12 months ago, which uses a heavier fabric than Lightwave's RAP-VAP towel, has received superlative reviews in the specialist US press. We expect the RAP-VAP to perform even better:

“We don't think we've ever seen so much drying power in one piece of fabric, ever. The towel has become a permanent fixture in our tester's travel and backpacking kit. OK, so we're impressed by a piece of fabric. It’s true. But it's hard not to be impressed when something not only performs to the level advertised, but exceeds expectations as this did.”
– Rated 5 out of 5 for functional/design perfection (SNEWS.COM/Gear trends, November 2008)

“When we tested this towel, our first thought was ‘water vacuum’. Even though this towel is thin, it will get you dry faster than a traditional towel. Best of all, the towel is impregnated with silver, a natural anti-microbial agent so it won't start to smell after multiple uses.” – Editor's Choice (Camping Life magazine, May 2008)
