The g2 is a larger version of the g1 and is designed for those who value space and comfort above the need to save weight. It is an extremely spacious two-person tent by anyone’s standards and can usually accommodate three at a push. It makes an outstanding base camp tent for lightweight expeditions. Like the g1, it pitches quickly and easily on rough ground due to its minimal pegging requirements – three pegs are quite sufficient in calm conditions. The g2 is available with three different sizes of flysheet. The standard-fly g2 is best for backpacking trips on which relatively little gear will be carried. The g2 mtn / ultriX / ioniX are a mid-size options where the porch pole almost triples entrance volume yet only lengthens the footprint by 40cm. Finally, the g2 xt flysheet gives a huge amount of space for extended stays and base camp use.
